The blade, measuring 5-7/8 inches in length, 1/2 inch in width, and 0.030 inch in thickness, features a dual-bevel spear point tip, ground to 55 degrees with a 25-degree angle on both bevels. The bevels are precisely ground on CNC machines, making this blade the perfect tool for marking in narrow recesses, such as when transferring pins/tails marks during dovetailing. The dual bevel allows for distinct lines to be marked equally well on both the right and left side of a part or guide, leaving crisp lines when marking with or against the grain, and on end grain.

To achieve a razor-sharp edge, the knife may require only a light stropping to remove a small wire edge. The knife can be used either unhandled or with wood scales attached to create a handle. If a handle is desired, the kit comes with two brass pins to affix the scales to the blade.
